Plano International Festival

     On Oct. 15, the Plano International Festival will be returning and will be held at Haggard Park. The Plano International Festival is an event that promotes diversity. There will be food and activities from all over the world. There will also be entertainment such as talented kids from different cultural backgrounds performing at the festival. 

     There will be different cultural exhibits all over Haggard Park and the ArtCentre of Plano. The festival will have food trucks containing diverse food such as Indian, Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine.  There will also be classic festival foods such as turkey legs and shaved ice.

     The Plano International Festival was founded in 2005 by the Plano City Council Multicultural Outreach Roundtable. It won the Plano ISD Diversity Advisory Committee’s 2014 Community Diversity Leadership Award and the City of Plano’s Environmental Star of Excellence Award four times due to its comprehensive zero waste program. 

     The festival will also have a wellness fair and fitzone for health screenings, flu shots and fitness demos from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. There will be a Dancing With The Symphony event where the Plano Symphony will bring dances from all around the world to life.
