This year’s Grammys Awards delivered not only iconic performances but also a lineup of stunning, bold, and somewhat controversial fashion choices. Celebrities pushed the envelope, embracing unique styles that had both critics and fans buzzing.
Taylor Swift wore a red-sparkly mini dress designed by Vivienne Westwood, and had a special ‘T’ chain dangling on her thigh representing either her boyfriend, Travis, or Taylor. The look blended classic elegance with a touch of edge, demonstrating Swift’s effortless ability to mix femininity with boldness. The thigh chain, a standout accessory, had the audience talking, and Swift’s commanding presence on the red carpet was undeniable. Taylor Swift’s outfit was chic and memorable; it was unique to the outfits she’s had in the past. I believe it was one of the best outfits of the night.
Jaden Smith’s fashion-forward approach had an eye-catching Vampire Castle hat, which covered his head and an all-black Louis Vutitonsuit. Smith’s ‘vampire castle’ head piece was designed and created by ABODI. His innovative style drew attention and creativity to the media. Smith showed that fashion can be creative and not something you could wear everyday.
Sabrina Carpenter turned heads with her array of fashion choices throughout the night. She debuted a backless ice-blue gown inspired by Shirley Maclaine’s iconic look in the 1964 film, The Apartment. For her award acceptance, Carpenter stunned in a gold strapless gown, before switching to a black sequined blazer paired with a mini skirt for her electrifying performance. Carpenter’s various outfits were all designed by JW Anderson. Her versatility proved she’s not only a force in music but in fashion as well. Carpenter had the best outfits of the night, from her ice-blue gown to her gold strapless gown to her Short ‘n Sweet outfit at the end of the night. Carpenter never failed an outfit and left everyone in awe.
Queen Bey(oncé) herself graced the Grammy stage in a custom Schiaparelli gown, showcasing her evolving style with a sequinned, Western-inspired look that paid homage to her latest album, Cowboy Carter. The gown’s combination of bold sequins and Western elements made it one of the standout looks of the evening, perfectly complementing Beyoncé’s ever-evolving musical and fashion journey.
The 2025 Grammys saw multiple artists showcasing more than one look throughout the night, with stars like Doechii and Chappell Roan also turning heads with their bold sartorial choices. Carpenter alone made multiple outfit changes, reflecting the transitional nature of Grammys fashion, where personal expression took center stage. As the Grammy Awards continue to be a platform for both music and style, this year’s edition reminded me that fashion, much like music, is all about pushing boundaries and making a statement.
