September 17, 2015
To help Wildcat fans out, the Wildcat Tales will be posting a weekly preview of each Plano Senior football opponent prior to their clash with the Wildcats.
This week, the Wildcat Tales staff introduces Plano’s week four opposition, the Allen Eagles.

Location – Allen, Texas (Population: 92,020), 11 miles NE of Plano Senior.
Division – UIL 6A – District 6.
2014 Record – 16-0 (1st in 6A – District 6), Won UIL 6A State Championship over Houston Cy-Ranch 47-16.
Current Record – 3-0 (1st in 6A – District 6).
Last Meeting with Plano Senior – Defeated Plano Senior 42-3 in 2014.
Analysis – The Eagles extended their unbeaten run to 46 games by starting the 2015 season with three home victories. Each win has come by at least 30 points for head coach Tom Westerberg’s team, who has amassed over 800 yards passing and 650 yards rushing in their opening wins.
Allen’s offensive attack features a two quarterback system as snaps are shared between junior Mitchell Jonke and senior Seth Green. However, it was Green, a University of Oregon commit, who played for the majority of Allen’s 45-15 win over McKinney Boyd last Friday night. On the ground, sophomore running back Kirby Bennett leads the way for the Eagles behind a stout offensive line featuring highly recruited senior offensive tackle Greg Little.
Defensively, the Eagles have speed at all positions as exemplified by junior linebacker Misi Tupou, who returned an interception for a touchdown against McKinney Boyd. Senior cornerback Jaylon Jones is an Ole Miss commit who provides experience for Allen as part of a secondary that has conceded just two passing touchdowns so far this season.
Winners of three consecutive state titles at the 6A level, Allen is in the middle of a historically dominant run in Texas high school football, seeking to become the first school since Sealy from 1994-1997 to win four consecutive state titles. The Eagles easily defeated Plano 42-3 last season, and they look poised for another big performance at their home stadium.
