Volleyball playoff preview: Hebron

To help Wildcat fans out, the Wildcat Tales will preview each opponent that Plano Senior will face in the state volleyball playoffs prior to their match with the Wildcats.
For the third round of the playoffs, the Wildcat Tales staff introduces Plano’s opposition, the Hebron Hawks.
School – Hebron High School.
Location – Carrollton, Texas (Population: 126,700).
Location of Playoff Game – The Colony High School (Lewisville, Texas). 12 miles NW. of Plano Senior.
Division – UIL 6A – District 6.
Current Record – 38-5 overall, 15-1 in district. (1st in 6A – District 6).
Last Meeting with Plano Senior – Defeated Plano Senior 3-1 on Sept. 29 in a district match at Plano Senior.
Analysis – Hebron and Plano will meet for the fourth time this season in a UIL regional quarter-final round showdown on Tuesday night, with the winner advancing to the regional semifinal. Each of the three previous meetings between the Hawks and Wildcats has ended in the favor of Hebron this season.
The Hawks finished first in District 6-6A with an impressive 15-1 district record, only losing to Allen in a five-set match. Since the loss though, Hebron have won six straight matches en route to their regional quarter-final.
Senior outside and right hitter Jordan Yauch powers the Hebron attack with 495 kills so far this season, which is 192 more than any other Hawk player. Junior setter Kylee McLaughlin provides the vast majority of assists for the Hebron squad, totaling a mammoth 888 assists over the course of Hebron’s 43 matches.
With 55 blocks to her name, senior middle hitter Tamia Reeves leads Hebron in blocks and will be patrolling the net come Tuesday night against the Wildcats. Karin Keeney has been the head coach at Hebron since the school’s inception in 199 and has led the Hawks to state championships in 2004 and 2010.
