     The Planoettes, known for their precision and synchronized movements, have become a symbol of excellence in the world of dance. Led by their Captain, Sarah Fish, the team members spend countless hours perfecting their routines, pushing their boundaries, and striving for perfection.

     With her talent, dedication, and natural leadership skills, Fish is an inspiring figure both on and off the dance floor. Fish’s Planoette journey began when she joined the team as a freshman at Clark High School. From the start, her passion for dance and her commitment to excellence was apparent. Her hard work and determination quickly caught the attention of her teammates and coaches, earning her spot as Cougarette Captain.

     “Dancing allows me an escape and it’s a way of expressing myself,” Fish said. “ I enjoy getting to spend time with my friends, as well as performing alongside them.”

     In addition to being a compelling dancer and leader, Fish also excels academically. Balancing her rigorous dance schedule with her studies, she has proven herself to be a true role model for her peers. Her commitment to maintaining a well-rounded lifestyle serves as an example of her discipline and time management skills.

     “It’s definitely not easy balancing classes with dance, but it teaches me time management and better prepares me for the real world,” Fish said.

     Fish’s leadership and commitment have played a significant role in the Planoettes’ success. Under her guidance, the team has achieved remarkable accomplishments, receiving recognition and praise at various competitions and showcasing their talent at prestigious events. The Planoettes begin preparation for various competitions throughout the spring season in November. 

     “We prepare for our competitions during our many daily practices and keep energy high when nerves start to run rapidly,” Fish said. “I make sure everyone starts with a good full-body warm-up before we go out on stage.” 

    As Fish continues to lead the Planoettes with grace and passion, she remains an inspiration to her teammates and the entire Plano Senior High School community. Her diligence, talent, and ability to bring out the best in others make her a true standout among her peers.

     “One of my goals as Captain is to create a loving and safe environment for the team, while having the balance of having fun and working hard,” Fish said.
