From fine arts like theatre, dance, and band, to the visual arts like the multiple different offered art classes. Art and Education go hand in hand and the arts are a huge part of Plano Senior. Lisa Jones is an art teacher at Plano Senior and she teaches AP 3D Art.
“Art is in everything we do, in every single class we take there’s art in it in some way,” Jones said. “Art is so important to learning it makes for a more well-rounded education I wish every student was involved in the arts”
As a teacher, Jones has always loved creating and crafting since birth. Being creative is something that has come easy to her, and she even got a degree in art in college.
One of the candidates for NAHS officer is Senior Lina Torlak, a huge artist in and out of school. Torlak expresses art through her clothing and social media.
“I definitely think art makes me who I am,” Torlak said. “I think almost everyone can benefit from an art class because it is so therapeutic. Art gives me peace.”
“Our campus is full of creativity and design,” Torlack said.“There are so many murals and even the bulletin boards in the hallway are a part of that, I think most people don’t realize that.”
