Avengers: Infinity War was an emotional rollercoaster that was action-packed from start to finish, with mind-blowing action scenes and a flowing narrative that lived up to every expectation.

    With a limited amount of screen time, at the beginning it felt slightly as if the scenes were jumping around too much. Yet as the plot starts to flow a bit better, the transitions become more natural and create a more immersive story for the audience. It is a movie to recommend to anyone who’s looking for a fantastic action feature with a full storyline.

    The movie consists of all 26 of the movie heroes being brought together to protect the Infinity Stones from Thanos (Josh Brolin) before he kills a large portion of the universe using his gauntlet, the ultimate weapon that wields the power of the stones.

    In a shockingly vivid opening scene, Thanos is seen on board Thor’s Asgardian refugee ship which the Thor: Ragnarok crew was last seen on. Tragedy strikes within the first few minutes of the movie, giving the viewer’s perspective on how the rest of the film goes. As a whole, Thanos’ actions caused a collective panic attack from the audience members as they realized Marvel’s protective bubble around their heroes was no longer there, meaning anything could happen to favorite characters.

    With an expansive cast featuring well known faces such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo and Chadwick Boseman, Infinity War had a lot of talent stockpiled into an awe-inspiring film with a nine out of ten rating on IMDb.

    While there were doubts that Marvel could achieve a superior film due to plot quality being sacrificed for character quantity, Infinity War fully delivered with a movie that pulled heartstrings and excited audiences with cool CGI and digital effects.

    Tony Stark spends most of the time with the Guardians and Peter Parker, giving some of the best on-screen moments. This group provided colorful dialogue full of snark and comedy that produced amazing on-screen chemistry, giving the feeling of comedic relief to ease the stress of the action and drama of the film.

    The next of the familiar main characters is the always amazing Thor (Chris Hemsworth). As the first familiar face in the movie, Thor sets the stage for the emotional rollercoaster that is the rest of the film. He spends a considerable amount of the film with the lovable and hilarious Guardians of the Galaxy, who also have plenty of screen time due to Gamora’s connection as Thanos’ daughter.

    Rumors ran wild with speculation before the release of Infinity War, and Captain America (Chris Evans) was assumed to be dead, the villain or even a holder of an infinity stone in the movie. But the one thing for sure was that Steve Rogers was returning, and he wasn’t coming back as the same man last seen in Captain America: Civil War. This version of Captain America is new, rugged and exhilarating to watch on screen after being a poster child since the beginning. The audience gets to see the same Steve Rogers they know, but now that he’s free of the role as the captain, he’s ready to fight like just another kid from Brooklyn.

    As always, Marvel succeeded in bringing light in to the dark with well-placed humor during intense and dramatic scenes. But in totality, the film was highly emotional and a majority of the audience was seen shedding tears at a couple points. The directors of the movie, Anthony and Joseph Russo, have proved time and time again that they know exactly how to make a feature that both blows up the box office and the audience’s minds, even if the crowd was left feeling sad and empty as they left the theater.

    Infinity War has all the makings of one of the best Marvel movies in the past decade. With box office record-breaking revenue, Avengers: Infinity War raked in a total of $640.9 million opening weekend globally, making it the biggest opening weekend in the world.

    All the heroes, the humor, the action, the drama and of course everyone’s favorite Stan Lee cameo, make Infinity War a must-see movie that will have the audience laughing and crying throughout.
