Starting off the season on the right foot, the baseball team continues their winning ways. They are currently first in district. Baseball coach Rick Robertson said the team has been working harder as the season ends on April 27.
“The boys have been learning from each other constantly and have gotten better with each game,” Robertson said. “The team knows that in order to be champions, they have to be at their best at all times, and they are really working together.”
The baseball team beat Lewisville at home on April 17. They will play Plano East on Friday April 20, which will determine whether they stay in first place or move down to second place in district. The team’s last game will be on April 27 against Plano West. After the regular season end, the team will compete in the playoffs.
“I can see myself wearing that championship ring already,” junior Grant Lyness said.
Following their successful season junior Brad Hoeler said it is a bittersweet ending as the seniors go off to college.
“When the season ends I’m not going to see my senior teammates anymore, and that’s what makes me sad,” Hoeler said.
