As the holiday season is approaching, Starbucks fans, myself included, have been eagerly waiting for the new holiday drinks to arrive. This year’s new lineup is something you wouldn’t want to miss. If you enjoy any Christmas-inspired flavors, these festive beverages are worth trying
For the first time ever, Starbucks is introducing a holiday-themed refresher alongside its traditional lattes and mochas. As someone who is a big fan of both their refreshers and cranberry flavors, I found the Cranberry Refresher to be very delicious. While the drink was quite tart and tasted sour at first, the freeze-dried cranberries gave it a sweetness that balanced the flavors. I recommend ordering the Cran-Merry Orange Refresher with lemonade, as it enhances the sweetness.
The holiday lattes at Starbucks are always a seasonal classic when the temperature lowers. A Peppermint Latte is a perennial favorite, but if you enjoy that, the new lattes on the menu are some that you’ll want to taste. My favorite was the Creme Brulee Latte, the sweetest of the options. If you don’t like a very sweet drink, I would recommend trying the Chestnut Praline Latte. It has a nutty flavor to it unlike the Creme Brulee Latte, which has a sugary-sweet taste. One of the newest drinks this year is the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte. It was a very creamy vanilla drink, but fortunately, the sweetness didn’t overpower the coffee. They topped the drink with whipped cream and sprinkles, which helped make it look like a sugar cookie.
Mochas are always a fan favorite for those who love coffee and chocolate. Many of the mochas have a rich chocolate flavor that melts in your mouth.. The Peppermint Mocha remains timeless with its classic mint-chocolate combo. However, if you prefer something on the sweeter side, the Creme Brulee Mocha has a caramelized sweetness to it. I really enjoyed the classic Hot Chocolate Mocha, which tastes exactly like a hot chocolate with a coffee touch.
As someone who prefers a sweet alternative to coffee, chai is the best alternative to coffee. Chai options mirror the latte flavors, but with chai you can switch the different coldfoams to whatever you like and add fun toppings, like a caramel drizzle. If you like a rich vanilla-like drink, I recommend ordering a chai with creme brulee cold foam. However, it is worth noting that chai may not appeal to those who dislike overly sweet beverages.
With a variety of new and returning drinks, the Starbucks holiday drinks never miss and are always a must try. There is a broad selection of options you can choose from, and Starbucks can ensure that you will find a drink that you will like. These drinks are the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit as the season approaches.
