The autumn leaves are falling, the air is filled with school spirit, and the buzz of homecoming season is in the air. As Plano Senior gears up for homecoming celebrations next week, the tradition of selecting the Homecoming Court is kicking off with much anticipation and excitement.
Annalyse Rodgers: Queen
“I spontaneously decided to run for homecoming queen during theater rehearsals one day. I decided to run because it’s my senior year and I really want to make the most of it. I would love to be able to look back on this year and know I tried to put myself out there and didn’t miss any opportunities to have fun and express myself. My father and uncles went to this school and I think it would be such a great way to be able to represent them and Plano Senior if I were to win homecoming queen. Whether I win or not I’m glad I decided to just go for it and I’ve had a lot of fun during the process and have received so much support and I’m very grateful for that. Thank you!!”
Siham Seyoum: Queen
“I’m running because I have a lot of pride in being Ethiopian. And I’ve always wanted to have an opportunity to share my culture with others. Being a trainer it’s given me the opportunity to have contact with a lot of different people in sports and I’ve grown confidence in myself and my culture as a whole. So when I saw the opportunity to run I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of”

Luke Bowen: King
“I’m running for HOCO king because one of my friends ran last year and it’s become a big joke that we both have to run. Also my cousin ran and didn’t win so I have to win for her to live up to the dream she didn’t get. Also my friend repeatedly would tell me to because they said I had a good chance as well as thinking it would be fun to try and run, and that it would be a cool thing to be able to tell my kids one day”
Dmitri Goubin: King
“ I am running for HOCO king this year because if I win I am able to spread the victory to all my friends who rooted for me and wanted me to win. All of my buddies are on my side and helping me campaign, so a win for me is a win for them, and a win for them is what makes me happy.”
Levi Springer:

Tylond Buchanan: Prince
“What inspired me most to run for prince was the ability to get out of my comfort zone, as well as the love I have for Plano Senior. I’d never done anything like this before, and I felt it would be a good way to try something new. I’m most looking forward to the homecoming game because it’s full of school spirit and offers an inspiring sense of community. I’m very excited to be on the field and be a part of Plano Senior Pride. My favorite things about running have been campaigning and meeting new people that I wouldn’t have met if I wasn’t online, whilst spreading the word to vote for me. When it comes to campaigning, my favorite things have been preparing for the many events included in running for Homecoming Prince. I’m quite excited to share my personality and outfits with my peers.”

Lakyn Williams: Princess
“I have always been passionate about school spirit and I wanted to take an active role in promoting it by running for Homecoming Princess. I also wanted to represent my class and make my junior year a memorable one. I’m looking forward to Homecoming Week. All the dress-up days, the parade, and the pep rally are all opportunities to engage with my peers and community. My favorite thing about running has been meeting new people and forming new friendships. It’s been a great way for me to get involved and learn more about my school.”
Lesleigh Karlin: Princess
“I am new to the school and really excited to meet a lot of new people and make myself known and start connections within the school. I am also running with my boyfriend and this will be an experience we will always be able to remember and talk about. I am excited to have this moment with my boyfriend and for my family to be there as my support and watch me walk.”
Brionia Minter: Princess
“I have always wanted to run since junior high. I am extremely excited to walk the field and be at the dance all dressed up with my closest friends. I have really enjoyed the support of my friends and team who have been super creative with my campaigning and posts.”
