On Feb. 7, Plano ISD had its monthly board meeting. During the February meeting, the new athletic coordinator and head football coach for next year’s season was officially approved. The New head Coach Cody White has a long and impressive career with multiple decades of experience and success leading many teams to victory.

The need for a new director came last December when the old head coach resigned after three seasons. Immediately after, the district set a goal of finding a new coach by spring.

Coach White is a native Texan who began his almost three-decade-long coaching career in the Lone Star State. Throughout his long head coaching career, he has secured an overall record of 138-49.

“I am beyond humbled to have the opportunity to lead the football program at Plano Senior High,” said White. “The traditional administrative support and upward trajectory of the school makes this an incredibly exciting position.”

“Plano ISD is excited to welcome Cody White and his family to Wildcat Nation,” said Plano ISD athletic director Jeff Smith. “White has been a very successful football coach and athletic director throughout his career and we look forward to the positive impact he will have with all of our athletic programs.”
