Not every student can live their summer off their parents credit cards. Students all over get jobs during the summer to help pay for their summer expenses such as tanning, food, concerts, shopping and other summer things as well. Although some students acquire jobs during the school year, some students only get jobs during the summer to keep the stress level down. Not only do they meet new people at their exciting new jobs, sometimes their first job, but they also become closer to some of their classmates. Becoming closer with their classmates becomes an easy task because a majority of students work at similar jobs. Seeing a familiar friendly face at the work place helps get through their day.
One of the five popular jobs would be broadly placed in a movie theatre. More specifically, these jobs are at the Cinemark theatres. Students from all over apply to Cinemark and a vast majority of them would know each other.
Secondly, another popular summer job for teens would be Sonic. When learning the popular skill, roller-skating, at a young age, students get paid to show off their skills and bring out a wide variety of foods to cars filled with hungry people of all ages. Students may even receive tips depending on their customers.
Among the others, another popular job would be at grocery stores. There isn’t a main store students apply at but the job they are assigned are mostly similar in all grocery stores. Possibly being the bag boy and the cashier, maybe even be assigned to fetch the carts in the parking lot. Nevertheless, working at a grocery store is very popular among students.
Students may also be hired in stores inside the mall, such as Hollister, American Eagle, Forever 21, or Wet Seal. Depending on which store depends on the amount of pay, but the job assignments are also similar to each other. Employees fold clothes and put back misplaced garments while also working the cash register. Some of these stores purposely only hire for a certain season, so this is a perfect job opportunity for teens only looking for summer jobs.
Finally, a fifth popular summer job would be a restaurant. Only some of the restaurants hire 16 year olds due to not selling alcohol but if they did have a bar, the job assignments were scarce unless you were 18 years old.
Summer jobs may not be for everyone, but for the ones that need it, there are jobs out there for everyone.
