After Nov. 7th 2025, when the Plano West Wolves lost 62-28 against Prosper High School, the loss officially handed the number three playoff spot to the 6-3 Plano Wildcats. This placed Plano in the district 6A playoffs, and gained excitement from every Wildcat for the 2025-26 varsity football season. Although the administration and their supporters are hopeful for the entry into playoffs, it would be a stretch to claim that this should be an easy game for Plano. Let’s look at the odds.
Plano’s Pros & Coppells Cons
For this game, Plano is considered the underdogs and will need to pull both offensive and defensive strings to win this game. Yet, Plano is among the strongest in the district when it comes to offensive plays, especially when utilizing running back Chance Culley. This pass play is one of Plano’s signature moves accompanied with either a pass or a throw to wide receiver Kaedyn Brown to gain yards and possibly score. When other teams start to realize that these are Plano’s main offensive plays, the Wildcats begin to switch it up by using other players like wide receivers Jayvion Richardson and Montrice Hill and multi positioned players Joe Camacho and Braylen Alexander. In total, Plano’s players have accrued a total of 1,474 offensive yards. As well, it might be hard for the Cowboy defense to catch up. Coppell’s opponents this year are not as skilled as they have been in recent seasons, allowing the Cowboys to gain their 8-1 lead and dominate the district.
Where the Wildcats Have to Work
When looking at the statistics, the Wildcat varsity team faces major disadvantages against Coppell. One intense obstacle has to be district leader quarterback Carter Zinglemann who is most notable for his intense speed and almost 1,300 accrued rushing and passing yards. Also, running back Dylan McAfee’s 680 yards per carry adds to the madness of Coppell’s over 3,000 offensive yardage. Ultimately, Plano’s defense is up for an intense game trying to block the Coppell Cowboys who are also ahead defensively when comparing the overall data of both teams.
What’s Plano’s Probability of Winning?
All in all, the Plano varsity athletes have a chance at winning this essential game. As faith is in the air that the Wildcats will pull through for yet another round in the playoffs, it is not certain that Plano will win as their contender is analytically superior. Still, that has never stopped Plano’s pride, and it will definitely make for an enjoyable yet close game to watch, as the Wildcats fight to stay alive in the playoffs.
