Along with every album The Used makes, the bands newest, “Artwork”, brings a diverse sound that’s got everyone talking. A compilation of hardcore, light pop and different alternative sounds allow this album to please almost everybody. Despite the bands earlier releases, they have nearly perfected the mature sound they have been looking for all along. Songs like “Blood on My Hands” and “The Best of Me” still have intensity with the screaming and harsh rhythms played by guitars, while others like, “Kissing You Goodbye” have more of a relaxed, slower beat. The Used has a perfect blend of piano, bass, guitar, and drums that support lead singer Bert McCracken’s intriguing vocals. For most the album might take a few listens to get used to because of its diversity, but in the end, you won’t be able to get enough of what is said to be the band’s strongest album of their career.
