Q: Were you campaigning for homecoming king?
A: I campaigned to five people. I honestly wasn’t campaigning seriously, I was like, “It’s my senior year, I’ll just do it as a joke.” I was like, “Hey, vote for me for Homecoming king,” I guess word just spread.
Q: What are your plans for homecoming night? Who are you going with?
A: I’m going with Addie Newton. We’re planning on going to dinner, taking pictures, going to a haunted house.
Q: Do you think homecoming is stressing you out?
A: Not as much as last year. When I was a junior it was like, “Oh my God, it’s homecoming.” This year it’s just like, “Eh its homecoming,” it’s chill. It is just like a party, a party night.
Q: What do you think made it so stressful last year?
A: It’s just like a junior prom, and when you come to Plano, it is known for its traditions. You are being thrown into all these traditions and I had this feeling like I had to live up to each tradition to be a true Plano Wildcat. Now that I’m a senior, I just do that in my daily life.
Q: How do you feel about not having school on the day of the homecoming game?
A: I like that we don’t have school on the day of the game, because I’m the director for a volunteer organization called Teens Inspiring Youth. It provides me with a very unique opportunity to have a pre-homecoming event where instead of doing nothing, students can come out and have fun before their homecoming game and help the community.
Q: What are you planning on doing with TIY?
A: We are thinking about having a water balloon fight, and we are definitely having other clubs from Plano Senior come out, too.
