Homecoming King Nominee: Mark Lu

Ashley Gaudlip, Staff Writer

Q: What activities do you participate in at Plano?

A: I participate in Student Congress for school enhancement, and Key club.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of school?

A: I like to play basketball and football and chill with my friends.  Also, I like to go fishing, swim and eat.  I work at Chick Fil A, which is pretty fun and I get a lot of free food.

Q: What are your plans for college?

A: Well, I don’t know what I want to study yet, but I want to go to UT Austin.  I want to be in a frat.  But if I can’t get into UT, I’d want to go to A & M, OU or Arkansas.

Q: What’s your favorite class?

A: I like Dollars and Sense because it’s really chill and I like money, so it’s a good class for me.

Q: What are you excited for now that you’re on Homecoming court?

A: I’m excited I get to go on the [football] field during half time.  Also, I get to bring my mom out on the field and participate in the parade and pep rally.

Q: Were you surprised when you were nominated for Homecoming court?

A: Well, all I did was post a Facebook status, and I guess people voted for me.  I knew I had a chance [of being nominated], but I didn’t think I would get it.

Q: Is there anything else you’re looking forward to at Plano this year?

A: I’m looking forward to prom because that’s the thing you look forward to most senior year.  It’s gonna be fun, and it’s something you remember for your whole life.

Q: Is there anything else you want to say?

A: It’s a great honor to be nominated for Homecoming court.  I want to thank all my friends who nominated me.  If I won and became king, it’d be something I‘d never forget my whole life.  Also, I like turtles.
